Project Purple™ sponsors free initiatives for both Employees AND Employers. |
Employees: Personal Safety Workshops (PSW) utilize industry experts, self-defense instructors, and information from the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the American Journal of Public Health to combine and teach modern and relevant awareness and prevention seminars. Topics include: How to spot an attacker; appropriate responses to both violent and non-violent confrontations; proactive lifestyle choices to avoid dangerous situations altogether; and counseling recommendations in the event of an attack. Employers: Customized Safety Recommendation Packages (CSRP). Individual businesses can request a CSRP which tailors safety strategies to specific risks and concerns. EXAMPLE: "I own and operate a business in an “up and coming” area of Chicago, which still has elements of safety risks for my employees that leave late and open early. They carry large amounts of cash and often leave alone. Parking is a problem so they often park blocks away. What steps can I take to better ensure their safety?" Project Purple partners will work with Employers to create a system of safeguards and feasible steps for a safer work environment.
