Operation: Stop the Fear

Domestic violence is a vicious act that knows no boundaries and in many cases continues for decades with victims too frightened to take control of their lives and future. Aegis Protection Specialists are helping to innovatively transform the current system of protection for the victims.  Aegis, specializes in executive protection and perimeter security, is now placing a special focus on protecting victims against Domestic Violence – in many cases, services will be provided for free.  Pepperface is proud to announce our affiliation with Aegis. As part of this exciting partnership, we seek to share information, cultivate areas of expertise, and utilize networks. Pepperface will donate Palm Defenders for the women Aegis will so bravely risk their lives to protect.  

Reinventing Protection

“VIP protection” –close, often 24 hour protection includes:

• Court room security
• Transportation to and from the courthouse
• Protection for days leading up to and after the court proceedings
• Police department pick-ups
• Collaboration with schools to help create emergency plans should there be the need to remove a child/children due to kidnapping threats
• Supervision for “child swaps” dealing with divorced couples where the risk of violence is high to imminent
• Video surveillance to catch an individual violating court orders such as Protection >From Abuse (P.F.A.) and Restraining Orders – providing video proof of the violation to the police departments to facilitate arrests.

Awareness campaigns are vital communication vehicles for many diseases and worthwhile causes. Generating awareness is especially crucial in the fight to stop violence against women for several key reasons:

It is estimated that 60% of rapes go unreported. Why is that number so shockingly high? Because victims of rape and violence often face ridicule and accusations when coming forward – instead of receiving the care they deserve. The traumatizing assault experience is then followed by more fear and anguish. Many must face this suffering completely alone.

It is not only the victims that are silent. Society as a whole is generally afraid to openly discuss rape and sexual violence. The facts are avoided in hopes that violence will simply go away by itself. Instead of it just going away, the silence encourages more violence. Hiding the truth results in a lack of education; raising significant funds for violence against women organizations becomes unattainable; and loopholes in the law that benefit the attackers go unchallenged.
